    Description

MEXICO OAXACA SUD 2 REALES 1812 -  WAR OF INDEPENDENCE - HIGH GRADE F080
Oaxaca was the hub of insurgent activity in the South where Coinage started  in July 1811 and continue until October 1814 . The Oaxaca issues represent episodic striking, usually under the circumstances by various individuals. Coins were comonly made of copper due to urgency and were intended to be a redeem at face value in gold or silver once silver was available to the insurgents. Some where later made in silver but most appear to be of more recent origin to satisfy collectors.
