It includes two of the exact items used by the Maiko and Geisha of Gion to apply their Shiro-Nuri makeup.
The opaque, white ‘
Shiro-Nuri
’ makeup is first diluted and painted on with a ‘Hake’ brush and this
Sponge Puff
is used to spread it our and absorb the moisture. It is also perfect for applying masks.
The Pro Sponge Puff measures: 3¾
”
across or 9.5cm and has a ribbon handle.
The dish measures: 4½” or about 12cm
Both items are made by the famous Mitsuyoshi which has a long history of supplying makeup to the Maiko and Geiko of Gion and to Kabuki Actors from the Minamiza.

Note that due to reduced flights, JAPAN POST has suspended Air Parcel service to the USA, Australia and a few other countries (Europe is not effected). It is not known how long this will last but in the meantime, we are using JAPAN POST SURFACE mail which has tracking and insurance but can take about 60 days to the USA.
Alternatively, for an additional charge, YAMATO INTERNATIONAL offers extremely fast door to door service for a flat-rate for their various size boxes. The smallest “60cm” box is to most countries, can hold up to two kg and measures 27 X 19 X 19cm and arrives in about a week.
