Comments:
1.
At the 2004 ANA Show in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania the VAM-1B was discussed at the SSDC meeting and determined to be very tough to locate. It recently has begun getting surprising large premiums for a pitted reverse.
2.
Specimens seen are typically XF or AU, as below VF coin wear has removed the pitting making attribution impossible. Although no die states have been catalogued, there seems to be at least two stages of pitting, "light" and "heavy". Demand more when selling "heavy" specimens. Possible die gouge in the 'N' of 'ONE' covered up by the pitting above it.
3.
Approximately 20 specimens known, the finest being AU. Unknown in BU.
